They did it!

Finally something to report

They got their marriage license on Monday, which also happened to be Ayla's 18th birthday. Then on Tuesday they moved to their new place in Panama City. Only a week now til the wedding day!!! It's all starting to come together.

Wedding Regalia

I had Ayla and Shane dress up in their
wedding finery and took them to the beach for a photo shoot. It was COLD, WINDY and drizzling. Poor Ayla was barefoot in the freezing cold sand. I took the pix as fast as I could and we got the heck out of there as soon as possible. Even under such less than ideal circumstances, a few of the pix turned out really good.

She has a dress

After searching for a moderately priced dress at consignment stores, thrift stores, Ebay, Freecycle and Craigslist, she wasn't having much luck finding one. Then my friend Sheila got involved and asked on Freecycle in her state/area, and was offered a gorgeous Oleg Cassini wedding dress for free!!! She sent it to Ayla, and it fits perfectly, like it was designed for her. It will need to be cleaned but I think we can handle that! Here's a picture of her modelling it, she just woke up so it's hardly ideal but at least you get a look at it.

Finally, she's registered!

Today Ayla want to Target and registered. Her account can be accessed online as well as at the stores to make it easier for anyone who doesn't have a Target nearby. I don't know exactly what she registered for but I do know she has plenty of dishes, I gave her 2 sets for Christmas. And she wants a particular set of pots and pans that can only be found at Sam's, so that's not on there.



She doesn't have a dress yet but there are 2 I found that I want her to look at/try on. One is out of her price range but maybe we can talk them down. Shane has his tux already, it needs altered cuz he's so skinny but that's a minor problem. April and I went shopping last weekend and she found her bridesmaid dress but I didn't get pix of it to post here, I forgot to do that. I found a dress at the same place that I think will fit Lena, if not (or if she hates it) I can wear it to the wedding myself. So now if we can only get Ayla dressed, the wedding can go on!!

The date has been set

It's official, Ayla and Shane are getting married on May 16th, 2008. I'll post details on the event itself, registry info, and pix as they become available. Meanwhile, here's their 2007 Christmas photo for you to enjoy.
